Reports: 49ers to interview Falcons passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson

Another coach heading out? Yeah, probably.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons could be losing yet another coach to Kyle Shanahan soon, as passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson is interviewing for a defensive coordinator role with the San Francisco 49ers, per Vaughn McClure at ESPN.

Henderson came on for the 2016 season from the Dallas Cowboys when the Falcons moved Raheem Morris over to wide receivers coach, creating an opening in the passing game coordinator role that Dan Quinn utilizes. By all accounts, he did fine work here, and he’ll be rewarded with a shot to run one of the NFL’s worst defenses. Hoo...ray?

If Henderson does leave, the Falcons could move Raheem Morris back to that passing game coordinator role or make a fresh hire, and we’ll see which one they choose. I legitimately thought Morris would be in line for a coordinator role with this team and he didn’t get either one, so I’m out of the prediction game for Raheem.
