Super Bowl 51 odds: Falcons remain 3 point underdogs against Patriots

It’s going to be close, as Vegas says.

The Falcons opened up as three point underdogs to the Patriots, and nothing has changed over the last week-plus.

That’s both because very little has actually changed and because we’re not yet to crunch time before the Super Bowl. Everyone who is healthy enough to play is expected to play, Kyle Shanahan’s playbook was not stolen and absorbed via Bill Belichick’s proboscis, and these two teams are both very good and unlikely to crap the bed in the big game. Vegas knows it’ll be close, they know the Pats have every right to be favored with their playoff history, and so on.

As I’ll expand upon later today, I fully anticipate the Falcons will win this game, and I also expect it’ll be a close one that will prove to be one of the better Super Bowls in recent memory. Less than a week until we find out whether I’m right.
