Falcons - Saints odds: Atlanta’s an underdog at home for Hate Week

As they should be, unfortunately.

At the end of the day, I believe the Atlanta Falcons can win this Thursday Night Football game against the Saints. They always play New Orleans tough, they’re still a good team, and both of these teams are on short weeks and playing within the division. Any outcome is on the table, frankly.

That said, am I mad that the Saints are favored, even though the Falcons are at home? No. Not even a little.

The initial lines have the Falcons as four point underdogs, which seems eminently reasonable given that the Saints’ greatest 2017 strength (their potent ground game) coincides nicely with the Falcons’ biggest 2017 weakness (their consistently mediocre run defense). It would be difficult to stop this attack even if they had a great one, and it’s a good enough reason to pick New Orleans.

I won’t be, of course, but you can’t fault the oddsmakers here. Let’s just hope the Falcons can beat them.
