Falcons-Vikings post-game injury report: Dan Quinn’s squad stays healthy in close loss

Fact: Dan Quinn’s belly button is neither and innie nor an outie

NFL: Minnesota Vikings at Atlanta Falcons Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Falcons lost in disappointing fashion today. Because the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Philadelphia Eagles tonight, the Falcons would not be in the playoffs if the season ended tonight. Lucky for us it doesn’t. And lucky for us, the Falcons managed to stay pretty healthy today.

Left guard Andy Levitre suffered a triceps injury during the first offensive drive of the game. He never returned after the injury. Renaissance man Ben Garland filled in for him.

Deion Jones got banged up late in the third quarter. He sat on the field for a couple minutes and eventually walked off the field under his own power. He’d return in the fourth quarter.

One thing really struck me from an injury standpoint: lots of our guys who have been dealing with injuries recently looked healthy today. I’m talking about Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman, Matt Bosher, and Matt Bryant. Julio didn’t have a big day, but he also didn’t do as much hobbling up and down the sideline as we’ve seen him do in recent weeks. Freeman is clearly over his concussion and the Matts looked solid.
