This is just your typical schedule update, and I don’t want to get too misty-eyed on how the Falcons fought back from that Super Bowl game to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth. Unlike the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta made it back.
And it feels so goooooooood.
The Atlanta Falcons still need to show improvement, but probably got their best path to the Super Bowl. And it starts in six days.
Falcons will play the Rams Saturday at 8:15 pm on NBC

The Falcons were close to getting the New Orleans Saints, but luckily the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled out a last second win. I want no team three times in one season, even if it is a despised rival. Despite being supremely talented, the Rams are young at some key positions. Last time the Falcons played the Rams, they got their head coach fired. That probably won’t happen this time, but it’s a good reminder that Atlanta played this team. Admittedly, they were very, very, very poorly coached at the time.
If the Falcons can fend off the Rams, they get Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles. Foles isn’t young, but he most certainly hasn’t played great football for a long time. Those two wins could get the Falcons to the NFC Championship. The battle starts Saturday night on NBC.
