The Falcons have been on a nice run of late, putting up gobs of points, delivering quality defensive efforts, and winning four of their last five games. It has been enough to catapult them into playoff contention in the NFC, a place we’re quite comfortable in and would like to stay at.
The obstacle this week is the Minnesota Vikings. They have had their hiccups in 2017 and still may not have their quarterback situation entirely sorted out, but they are legitimately one of the best teams in football and should be treated as such. With the Falcons playing without Desmond Trufant, at minimum, this is a rough row to hoe.
That said, these are not the Falcons of yesteryear, and they appear to have genuinely turned the corner on offense. Playing at home and with Devonta Freeman returning, there’s no particular reason to think they can’t keep this close and potentially steal it away. If they do, they’ll be in stellar position at 8-4 and facing nothing but divisional matchups the rest of the way, even if not all those matchups promise to be easy.
Here’s what you need to know today.
Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings Week 13
Time: Sunday, December 3, 1 p.m. EST
Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia
TV Channel: FOX
Radio: 92.9 The Game
Odds: The Falcons are favored by a small number of points
Prediction: Falcons lose, 30-24
Key Questions: Can Atlanta pull this off down at least one of their top cornerbacks? Will they be able to stop a pretty effective Minnesota Vikings rushing attack? Will they be able to keep putting up tons of points against one of the most potent defenses in the NFL?
