Deion Jones was a one man wrecking crew against the New Orleans Saints. In his short career, Jones has always shown up against his hometown team, and Thursday night was no exception. Whenever I feel a little down, I think back to him icing out the game with a ridiculous interception on Drew Brees. It’s really the perfect pick me up.
The NFL has taken notice, and given Jones defensive player of the week.

This is huge for two reasons. First, the Falcons rarely have a defensive player winning this honor. OK, well the last one was Adrian Clayborn a few weeks ago. Next, Jones is joining some truly elite company.
Deion Jones is the 3rd player in franchise history to win both a Rookie of the Month Award (Sept 2016) & Player of the Week Award in a career.

That’s one impressive start, and the Falcons desperately need his help the last three weeks of the season to reach the playoffs.
