For the first time in the Matt Ryan era, the defense is ranked higher than the offense: Good or Bad?

The Falcon offense is ranked 9th in the NFL; the defense 7th...The one and only time in Falcon history that the team finished a season ranked in the top-10 on both sides of the ball was the Super Bowl season of 1998. Could this signal a changing of the guard as it were, going from an offensively dominant team to one based on defense or is it a sign of the struggles of Steve Sarkisian?

Here is the point; Many times teams talk about being a defensive or offensive team but many of the great teams in history, such as San Francisco, Dallas, Pitttsburgh and most recently the Patriots, were known for playing good defense yet those teams also had top-10 offenses. The 49ers would perennially have the top-ranked offense in the 80s and early 90's but fans did not realize that Bill Walsh would also maintain a top-5-10 defense while atop his dynasty.

So the question remains whether or not this is a transition to defensively oriented philosophy or a hiccup. But if it is then are you okay with becoming Seattle South?
