The Atlanta Falcons have one win in their last five games, but they’re also keeping most of those games close, and they’re finally returning home after a 1-2 road swing. That may explain why the Falcons are actually a field goal favorite at the moment against the Dallas Cowboys, a team that is certainly playing better than them at the moment.
The team’s penchant for playing in close games, and the fact that they’ll be at home, are reason enough to think this one might be close. Dallas’ defense is still uninspiring, and while the Falcons have continued to play poorly regardless of opponent on offense, they have matched up against just one below average defense during their last five games. You can talk yourself into a win here pretty easily if you think Ezekiel Elliott will either be out or the team can force enough turnovers to make up for what should be a strong Dallas offensive performance. You can tell I’m not convinced, can’t you?
Suffice to say the line seems fair enough, even if I’m not sold on the Falcons winning this one. If it comes down to a field goal, though, I’m hopeful we’ll have Matt Bryant.
