Duke Riley will miss Sunday’s Panthers game, but every other Falcon should play

The Falcons have reeled and stumbled a lot over the last month, but they are still a talented team. It is also important to note that at the moment, they are also a very healthy team, which means they’re well-positioning to challenge the Carolina Panthers on the road.

Duke Riley is the only Falcon who is listed as out, which is to be expected after his surgery. I’d anticipate he’ll miss at least one more week, and the team is unlikely to rush him back after moving Vic Beasley part-time to linebacker, getting LaRoy Reynolds back, and adding Sean Weatherspoon to the group.

Deion Jones and Devonta Freeman are both a bit banged up, with Jones looking a touch gimpy on the practice field this week, but both are expected to play. If Freeman is at all limited, Tevin Coleman will get an increased number of touches, while Reynolds and perhaps Weatherspoon figure to factor in at linebacker if Jones has to sit for any length of time.

The Falcons will need these guys against Carolina, which features a stout run defense and a mobile, bruising quarterback Deion Jones was able to victimize a year ago. A healthy roster may be the difference between a win and a loss, too.
