What you need to know to watch Falcons - Vikings in Week 13

Atlanta’s biggest matchup of the year, arguably, comes right now.

This Sunday, the Falcons will square off against the Vikings. That simple sentence belies the importance of the event.

Beating Minnesota would give Atlanta their signature win of the 2017 season, in many regards. All of their other wins have come with asterisks, whether it be Tampa Bay’s terrible pass defense, the Tyron Smith injury for Dallas, the plethora of injuries for Seattle, or the Mike Daniels and Jordy Nelson injuries for Green Bay. Even though Minnesota does have injuries, they’re still a 9-2 football team with a gifted roster. A win here puts the Falcons at eight for the year, potentially in second place in the NFC South, and with a very real shot at pushing their way into the playoffs with three wins the rest of the way. Maybe even two! I’m greedy.

Minnesota, meanwhile, will be looking to extend their stranglehold on the NFC North and stay right behind (or even in lockstep with) the Philadelphia Eagles. There are real stakes here, and neither team is going to be found guilty of taking this one lightly.

For you, Joe or Brenda Fan, there are few things more important than clearing your Sunday afternoon to watch. So let’s talk about how you’ll do that, right here.
