Julio Jones has more 250 yard receiving games than any other active receiver

You’re sensing a pattern with today’s stories about Julio Jones.

Julio Jones has more receptions and more yardage than any other receiver in NFL history through 90 games. He also has more 250 yard receiving games than any player in the NFL right now, which should seem ludicrous but seems instead entirely fitting. This is Julio Jones we’re talking about.

I’m not sure if Shannon Sharpe is correct here, but it would not surprise me. It is best not to be surprised by any stories about Julio Jones, who is a myth given life and a pair of nice cleats.

You can probably easily conjure all three of these games out of memory. He just went off for 253 yards and two touchdowns on just 12 receptions against the Buccaneers, torching their secondary again and again and even catching a bomb for six from Mohamed Sanu. He absolutely blew the doors off the Panthers last year when he went for 300 yards on 12 receptions, demoralizing Carolina and beating Bene Benikwere so badly the Panthers cut him after the game. And he annihilated Green Bay in a losing effort back in 2014, picking up 259 yards and a touchdown on just 11 receptions.

These are legendary performances that will someday be great starting points for conversations about Julio, and yet they seem...sort of ordinary now. That’s a testament to just how talented Julio is, and it’s a warning to any team that is foolish enough not to put (or incapable of putting) together the resources they need to stop #11. The best part is that I fully believe Julio will do this again at some point in his career,
