With his third quarter grab against the Buccaneers, Julio Jones now has more receptions than any receiver in history through 90 games. That’s his second record of the day, as he also had more yardage through 90 games than any receiver in the first half.
Julio’s early years were marred by questions about his injury history and the price the Falcons paid to trade up for him, but he’s blossomed into one of the great receivers in NFL history up until now. He has nine receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns today against the Buccaneers, and he may not be done yet.
Having blown past the 558 receptions and 8,502 he needed to set those records, Julio’s pace is obviously unprecedented, and he only need to stay healthy to maintain his assault on the record books. May he do so.
