Chalk this up as an update that we hope doesn’t become significant: With Ty Sambrailo dealing with an injury, Austin Pasztor will be the team’s swing tackle on Sunday against the Buccaneers.
Thus far in 2017, Sambrailo has had limited run thanks to Jake Matthews and Ryan Schraeder being mostly healthy. He did get a couple of games while Schraeder worked his way through the concussion protocol, proving to be sort of decent in pass protection and more or less a liability as a run blocker.
On one hand, it’d be nice to see if Pasztor has anything to offer, because the Falcons may want to keep him around after this year. On the other hand, the only way he’ll get into the game is if someone gets hurt, so never mind. We’ll hope Matthews and Schraeder stay healthy and effective against the Buccaneers and Pasztor just sort of looms on the sideline for four quarters.
Dan Quinn also ruled out Ty Sambrailo (hamstring). Would mean Austin Pasztor likely the backup tackle.
