We expected the very worst when Devonta Freeman went down with a concussion. This is his second concussion since preseason, which typically means players see a longer absence than normal.
Per Chris Mortensen last night on ESPN, that’s exactly what is happening.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen said he expects RB Devonta Freeman to miss another game before he returns to action. Would mean he'd miss the Tampa Bay game next week. Target to return looks like Minnesota.

The Atlanta Falcons should obviously play it safe with Freeman. Concussions can get progressively worse, and easier to occur, after multiple in a short period of time. The smart thing to do is give him ample rest and let Tevin Coleman and Terron Ward (dang he looked good against Seattle) carry the rock.
The Minnesota game still feels a little early, but the Falcons could sure use everyone back at full strength to battle the Vikings.
