Who would you steal from the Panthers roster, if you could take one player?

Take one. Only one.

As the Falcons prepare to take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, it’s time to start thinking about matchups and how this Carolina roster stacks up against Atlanta’s. It’s also time to start thinking about which player you’d take from this roster.

Unless you prefer Cam Newton to Matt Ryan or think Christian McCaffrey is a true stud, the answer should come on the defensive side of the ball, where the Panthers are fairly stacked.

Personally, I’d lean toward Kawann Short, a terrific defensive tackle who is a fearsome pass rusher in his own right, and is still only 28 years old. I’m just generally in favor of adding more talent to the middle of this defensive line to make Grady Jarrett’s life even easier, and Short fits the bill as a lethal option getting after the quarterback and a solid run defender. It’s a nice marriage of need and a quality player, and you’d be stealing him away from a divisional rival, as well.

Who would you choose?
