Everyone inside and outside of Flowery Branch knew that Devonta Freeman was not going to clear the concussion protocol this week and suit up against the Seahawks. It was really just a question of when the team would come out and make that official, and they’ve finally done so today.

Free suffered his second concussion of the year in Dallas—unless you happen to believe he suffered one against Carolina, in which case we’re into an even more serious situation—and may not clear the protocol for another week or two. At this point, I’m assuming nothing about his return, and the Falcons are set to proceed with the trio of Tevin Coleman, Terron Ward, and Terrence Magee until further notice.
If Freeman is the only Falcon missing Monday night against the Seahawks, the team will have a huge advantage in terms of health. Let’s just hope they can capitalize.
