Atlanta Falcons talk: Who finishes the 2017 season with the most sacks?

Vic Beasley, Adrian Clayborn, or someone else entirely?

The Atlanta Falcons got a massive boost from Adrian Clayborn last weekend, when he put up a franchise record six sacks in a single game. That outburst made him the team’s leading sack artist through nine games, with a total of eight. Will he finish the year as the team leader?

There are reasons to doubt that, and reasons to believe it. The doubt comes from the fact that Clayborn hasn’t been picking up ton of sacks outside of that one game, meaning he could very easily stay at 8 or top out around 10, even if I’m hoping that’s not true. Meanwhile, Vic Beasley and Takkarist McKinley haven’t really gotten going yet, and a couple of multi-sack efforts over the last seven games could get either one close.

On the other hand, Clayborn has another plum matchup this Monday night, Beasley’s playing more linebacker, and Takk just hasn’t picked up the sacks his pressure numbers would suggest yet. I’ll go ahead and say Clayborn will finish with the most sacks on the team at 11, just ahead of Beasley, who should finish around 8.

What say you?
