This week’s quickpod takes a look at franchise QB - and reigning NFL MVP - Matt Ryan. Even though the Falcons are 3-1, Ryan is arguably off to a slow start. His statistics aren’t terrible, but fans have definitely noticed that certain parts of his game aren’t functioning like they were in 2016. In particular, the deep ball seems to be struggling through the first four games.

Some thoughts covered:

  • Why not having Julio Jones and Taylor Gabriel in the preseason hurt the deep ball
  • The right side of the offensive line, and how it’s causing Ryan to have happy feet
  • Getting used to a brand new stadium after nine years at the Georgia Dome
  • Reasons to be optimistic that all of this will improve

If you’re worried about Matt Ryan, don’t be. He’s a quality quarterback who should bounce back nicely once he has a healthy offensive line again.
