What you need to know to watch Falcons vs. Jets this weekend

The Atlanta Falcons have rarely played more pivotal games against the New York Jets. I feel confident in saying that, primarily because of the small sample size.

A win here doesn’t impress anyone, more than likely, but it puts you above .500 and gives you some degree of confidence after three straight ugly losses. A loss here puts you at 3-4, potentially two games behind the leader in the NFC South, and builds on the ugly chorus that has followed each of those losses. This team is good at internalizing things and ignoring what’s being said outside the building, but at some point all that losing gets demoralizing, particularly when you’re 0-4 against the AFC East.
