The Bills only had ten men on the field for the last play of the game vs. Falcons

The Bills almost screwed it up, but the Falcons screwed it up first

The Falcons almost won yesterday. They were a yard away from the victory, and while a combination of poor execution and quality Bills defense stopped them from getting there, it was at least a close, hard-fought game for our favorite depleted team. You may not want to hold your head high today, but you can take some solace in that.

What may ruin that solace (sorry, sorry) is the news that the Bills only had 10 men on the field during that final, fateful play. If you were yelling at Steve Sarkisian for the play call, you weren’t alone, and this isn’t going to make you feel any better. If you were fine with the play call but disappointed with the execution, this isn’t going to make you feel any better. If you thought the Bills held on to Taylor Gabriel to screw up the play, well, you’re already mad.

The good news, as we’ll repeatedly stress, is that the Falcons have two weeks to get healthier and watch these kinds of plays over and over again to understand where they’ve fallen short over the first four games of the season. All you can really do is hope they come out swinging after the bye, and tip your cap to a Buffalo defense that got the job done down a man with the game on the line.
