What happened to the Matt Ryan-driven offense we were promised?

Forgive me if I misinterpreted things but my belief was that the offense in 2017 would be Matt-centric, that he would be calling more plays in the no-huddle and he would be more Peyton Manning-esque in his on-field control. This offense instead looks like Shanahan lite and while I am not blaming Steve Sarkisian for the malaise, he seems to have Shanahan like control of the playcalling.

We were somewhat led to believe that Sarkisian would be more of an accessory to the offense and not one the main focal points that he has become. As I have observed, we are running the no-huddle even LESS than under the despised Kyle Shanahan. Matt is too good guy to say as much but the offense looks restricted at times; its as though Sarkisian is reluctant to cede control to Ryan as was Shanahan and Dirk Koetter before him. My question and concern is will any coordinator put their ego aside and let Matt be the OC on the field a la Manning or Tom Brady. So far, with Sarkisian pending, the answer seems to be no.
