Remember when everyone joked (or hoped) the Falcons wouldn’t be playing in the Pro Bowl at all, because they’d have the Super Bowl to worry about? That was fun at the time, and it’s even better now that it’s a real situation.
The NFL recently announced replacements for the Falcons’ six Pro Bowlers. As a reminder, four came from this high-powered offense, one got in thanks to his excellence on defense, and Matt Bryant finally got recognition as the NFC kicker after years of being shut out of the Pro Bowl in unjust fashion.
Here’s that list of replacements, including one name we all know and dislike.
- Drew Brees (Matt Ryan)
- Darren Sproles (Devonta Freeman)
- Dez Bryant (Julio Jones)
- Jason Kelce (Alex Mack)
- Anthony Barr (Vic Beasley)
- Matt Prater (Matt Bryant)
The Pro Bowl will be on Sunday, if you’re really football-starved, but you won’t see any Falcons until the following weekend. Thankfully.
