Why ‘Hamilton’ is the perfect soundtrack for Falcons vs. Patriots

If you haven’t seen or heard Hamilton yet, it is mostly about a scrappy young politician attempting to change history by overthrowing the harsh British monarchy. In a lot of ways, it parallels the Atlanta Falcons underdog story this season, which will culminate in the ultimate battle with Bill Belichick and the Patriots at the Super Bowl.

Hamilton is actually the perfect soundtrack for this particular Super Bowl for one reason — the prevalence of the phrase “Rise up” in the lyrics. That’s been the Falcons’ catchphrase for years, and they’ll certainly need to rise up if they want to emerge victorious over the Patriots.

We are a little obsessed with the Hamilton soundtrack so we had some fun with our favorite song lyrics to fit this special Super Bowl matchup.

So without further ado:

To the tune of Alexander Hamilton: “2017... Houston, Texas.”

“I AM NOT THROWING AWAY THIS...PASS. I AM NOT THROWING AWAY THIS PASS. I am just like my defense, I’m young, scrappy and hungry, and I’m not throwing away THIS PASS.” Matt Ryan, My Shot
