We knew the Falcons were approaching elite territory with their prolific scoring, and yesterday they matched the Greatest Show on Turf’s scoring.
The Falcons are now tied with the 2000 St. Louis Rams, also known as “The Greatest Show on Turf” for points scored in a season (540).

Wow. The Falcons tie the Rams at 540 points scored throughout the season, with an impressive 33.8 points per game. The Falcons also tied the 1983 Washington Redskins, who did not have any cool name I’m aware of.
Matt Ryan and the Falcons are in some elite company, with only Peyton Manning's Denver Broncos in 2013, Tom Brady's New England Patriots perfect* season in 2007, Aaron Rodgers and the 2011 Green Bay Packers, the Daunte Culpepper to Randy Moss connection from the 1998 Minnesota Vikings, the 2012 Patriots, Drew Brees and the 2011 New Orleans Saints ahead of Atlanta.
Now the only records left to break are in the postseason.
