Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is having a career year. He’s slicing and dicing defenses, and if he doesn’t win MVP, Dave might go back to drinking gasoline. (Nobody wants to see that; it’s not as entertaining as it sounds.)
I’m sure if you asked him, Ryan would rather win a Super Bowl than any individual award. But if year end awards are any indication, there’s no lack of love for our QB1.
.@AtlantaFalcons QB Matt Ryan (@M_Ryan02), who led the NFL's top-scoring offense, is PFWA's 2016 NFL MVP & Offensive Player of the Year.

This is good news and Ryan absolutely deserves to be honored. You may be wondering whether this is a sign of things to come. Put differently, does this mean Ryan is on track to be named NFL MVP?
It’s an excellent question, and here’s why this probably is a solid indicator: since 2004, the player selected as the PFWA MVP has also won the NFL MVP. (Also known as the Associated Press NFL MVP Award.)
