Today was "Competition Wednesday" in Flowery Branch, according to Falcons head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn said the team is pumped to not only open the season against a division opponent in the Buccaneers, but also to get the 2016 season rolling in front of what he hopes will be a rowdy home crowd in the Georgia Dome.

Dwight Freeney was held out of practice on Wednesday, and on the official injury report, Freeney’s absence was noted as non-injury related. Keanu Neal was also obviously held out of practice as he recovers from knee surgery.

Quinn shared that wide receiver Julio Jones (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice. Don’t be worried, though, as Quinn said he expects Jones to be back to full participation tomorrow.

Adrian Clayborn (shoulder) and Terron Ward (ankle) were both limited on Wednesday, and Quinn did not specify whether they would be ready for full participation on Thursday. We’ll find out tomorrow.
