As fans of an NFC team, particularly an NFC South team, it can be easy to lose track of some of the AFC’s lesser lights. You won’t have that option tonight, when the Cincinnati Bengals play the Miami Dolphins.
“Lesser light” is perfectly apropos for the Dolphins, a team that seems to underachieve on an annual basis and is already off to a lousy start, but it probably seems a bit unfair for the Bengals. Though they’re loaded with talent across the board and usually good for a playoff berth, Cincinnati typically falls short, has a talented quarterback who never seems to quite get over the hump, and is unusually dependent on a handful of offensive options. If they had a worse defense, they’d basically be the Falcons, just in black and orange.
I fully anticipate Cincinnati will win this one, because they’re the superior team, but if you need to know how to watch this one unfold for yourself, here you go.
