We have plenty of time this week to debate whether the Falcons belong atop the NFC South heap, whether they’re actually anywhere near as good on offense as they seem, and whether this defense can coalesce into a force for good. Right now, let’s just enjoy the fact that this team is on fire offensively after three games.

Matt Ryan hasn’t been feeding Julio Jones the way he did a year ago, and it hasn’t mattered at all. The Falcons are simply destroying every team in their way right now, and while that’s not particularly likely to continue against the Panthers, Broncos, and Seahawks, you can safely say this is a team capable of putting yards and points on the board against lesser lights. That wasn’t always a given in years past, to put it mildly.
The defense just needs a little work. Just a little.
