Earlier this week, the Falcons waived running back Terron Ward from the active roster and signed O’Brien Schofield. Now Ward is back, and the team has announced that he’s been added to Atlanta’s practice squad.
Each team’s practice squad has 10 players, and teams are allowed to keep up to four players with up to two accrued seasons, which would be six games in any given season. Ward was on the active roster for the Falcons as a rookie last year, so he has just one accrued season under his belt.
To make room for Ward, the team waived former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims, who was signed by Atlanta as a running back.
Ward finished the 2015 season with 29 carries for 95 yards and one touchdown. He added 93 receiving yards. Ward battled an ankle injury throughout training camp and the preseason and only appeared in the final preseason game for the Falcons He finished that game with 22 carries for 62 yards.
