The biggest news on today’s injury report is that the Atlanta Falcons’ first round pick, strong safety Keanu Neal, returned to practice today in a limited fashion.
Neal has been out since the preseason recovering from a minor knee scope he underwent after suffering an injury in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins. We’ll watch his status on Friday and Saturday, but the fact that he participated at all today is a good sign.
Julio Jones was held out of practice today, but Dan Quinn said Jones had been able to participate in the walk through earlier. Jones’ status tomorrow should tell us much more about where he is in his recovery from a calf strain he experienced against Oakland.
Mohamed Sanu (ankle), Paul Worrilow (groin), Ra’Shede Hageman (illness), De’Vondre Campbell (ankle) and Dwight Freeney (non-injury related) were all held out of Thursday’s practice. The only one you shouldn’t be concerned about here is Freeney. He’s missed the first practice of each week of the regular season with a non-injury designation, and the team is just getting him some rest.
Justin Hardy (shoulder), Kemal Ishmael (shoulder), Grady Jarrett (elbow) and Brooks Reed (shoulder) were all limited in Thursday’s practice.
