Hello fellow Falcoholics!
My name is Kevin Knight, and I am very excited to announce that I will be joining The Falcoholic’s writing team this season. You may recognize me from the comment section of game threads, or from my hot and fresh Falcons takes on Twitter (Dave once infamously referred to me as “The Baker”). For the majority of you who have never heard of me, I look forward to getting to know you over the coming weeks and months.
Ever since I discovered The Falcoholic during the 2012 season, I’ve been hooked. I have always considered this to be the best place to find Falcons news, and I loved the interaction they had with the community. To have the opportunity to join them and be a part of that is a great privilege.
Back in training camp before the 2014 season, I wrote my first piece of sports content as a FanPost on this site. Since then, I’ve worked as the Atlanta Falcons Team Writer for The Runner Sports and as a Staff Writer for Blogging Dirty. I’ve also been a part of the Podding Dirty Podcast and in 2015 helped Caleb co-host several live game commentaries on RabbleTV.
My Falcons fandom began in the early 2000’s. I lived in northwest Florida and had family in Atlanta, but really it came down to a much more arbitrary decision: falcons were my favorite animal and red and black were my favorite colors. Mike Vick was responsible for most of my viewing in the early days, but I really started following the team closely after Matt Ryan was drafted in 2008. It’s been a long and interesting (and occasionally soul-crushing) road since then, but I’ve never looked back.
As for me personally, I currently live and work in Ohio. I am very into computers and video gaming. Some of the games I play often are World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Planetside 2, and Subnautica. I also play competitive airsoft and take part in several military-simulation (MilSim) events each year. Naturally, I’m very into football and watch/play it as often as possible.
You can look forward to a variety of content from me in the future. I’m very much into breaking down film, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. I love the NFL Draft and will definitely be providing a lot of coverage of college prospects and their potential fits in Atlanta. I’m also very into fantasy football, so feel free to @ me with your line-up/match-up questions and I’ll do my best not to ruin your week.
That’s about all there is to know about me, folks. I’m looking forward to interacting with all of you over the course of the season and beyond!
