What a win, Atlanta Falcons fans! It feels good to put up that first "W," even if there's a tough road ahead. Matt Ryan's ego is apparently intact and healthy, given his performance today. Racking up nearly 400 passing yards against that defense in that stadium is nothing short of impressive. But there were a couple injuries, so let's break them down.
Cornerback extraordinaire Desmond Trufant was injured in the first quarter. It looked like he tweaked his left knee while celebrating. (Trufant broke up a pass, jumped in the air twice in frustration because he wanted an interception, then grabbed his left knee.) He got checked out by the training staff and returned to the field. I'll take that to mean that it wasn't serious, but going forward, let's not do that again, Tru. Please.
Julio Jones apparently "jammed" his left leg at some point in the game. He limped into the locker room after the game. According to Vaughn McClure, this is completely unrelated to the ankle injury and the team has no concerns going forward. He also apparently ditched the limp in the locker room and looked unaffected on his way to the team bus.
