Per NFL, Starr on IR list, Van Dyke gone

The NFL's website shows two transactions that we hadn't heard about from the team or other local media. So ... you heard it here first!

The NFL's official web site shows two transactions that aren't currently listed on the Atlanta Falcons' website. All transactions go through the league office, so the NFL site does have pretty good access to that sort of thing.

The team waived/injured Tyler Starr at the final roster cutdowns. Something key to remember is that the waived/injured designation in itself doesn't mean a player is entirely out of the organization. Once the player clears waivers, the team may then place the player on injured reserve status OR negotiate an injury settlement and part ways with him. Sometimes it takes a while for the player to show up on the IR list on the roster page.

Starr cleared waivers, and according to the NFL's web site, the Falcons have placed him on IR. So he's hurt, but apparently he's still with us. That transaction page also shows that the team reached an injury settlement with Demarcus Van Dyke and released him from IR status.

These aren't earth-shaking moves as they don't even involve the active roster. But it's news that hasn't been presented anywhere else to this point. So hey, you heard it here first...
