Matt Ryan holds a lot of franchise records, but he’s also in the conversation for a handful of NFL records. Here’s a fun, odd one we’d never know about if not for those pencil-pushing stat nerds with their “numbers” and “money.”
.@AtlantaFalcons QB Matt Ryan is over 200 pass yards for 40th straight game - longest active streak in league, 3rd-longest since 1960

Plenty of you are going to bag on this stat, but given that fluke games do happen and Ryan has played the Cardinals a couple of times in that span and thrown a whole bunch of picks, this is legitimately impressive. It has helped him that the Falcons have long been reliant on the pass, of course, but he’s been durable enough and good enough to hang in there and deliver. The changing face of the quarterback position does make this significantly less impressive than it was in, say, 1970.
It won’t change your mind about Ryan, either way, but perhaps you’ll give him some mild props.
