The Falcons have made a swap on the practice squad. Again.
Falcons sign former Alabama QB Blake Sims to the practice squad as a RB and waive practice squad RB Gus Johnson.... https://t.co/rgeCEesqKU.

Sims tried out as a running back for the Falcons last week, and they must have liked what they saw. The former Alabama quarterback is a decent-sized option with good speed and the kind of agility you hone dodging defenders in the pocket, so he’s a worthwhile flier for a practice squad spot. If Terron Ward continues to miss time with injury, it’s possible he’ll get on the 53 man roster at some point
Gus Johnson is a physical runner who has bounced on and off the Falcons’ roster and practice squad since the summer, and will likely land another gig in the near future with a running back-needy team. If not, the Falcons may consider him again down the line if a spot opens up, at the very least.
Welcome to the team, Blake Sims! Your name will ring through history.
