We’re inching closer to the first Falcons preseason game Thursday night, and while the practices are technically no more important than they were a week ago, the proximity to an actual game makes it feel like every decision and position battle is building toward something. Slowly.
Here’s a few notes regarding what to watch out for today:
- The Falcons are so, so crowded at receiver, so you should always be looking for someone to stand out. While Julio Jones, Justin Hardy, and Mohamed Sanu are the obvious locks, guys like Aldrick Robinson, Nick Williams and Devin Fuller will continue to battle for one of the remaining spots.
- We say it over and over again, but the interior of this offensive line is deeply unsettled, and you should focus as much attention as you can muster on watching what configurations the Falcons’ coaching staff roll out in practice. It may give us a clue about who will line up where, and which reserves stick around.
