Training camp rolls on, and we roll along with it.
Today, the Falcons will be practicing with an eye on preparing for Washington, their first preseason game. That’s on Thursday, so what we should see between now and then is some settling of roles ahead of the game. Here are a few other items to watch for today.
- C.J. Goodwin making a strong case for a roster spot, and perhaps even earning playing time over Akeem King early in the season. This is a longshot, but Goodwin has been terrific, King has had a quiet (though not bad) camp, and stranger things have certainly happened.
- The starters at guard aren’t going to be settled for a while, but we can continue to look for clues as to who is going to wind up there. The favorites remain Chris Chester and Andy Levitre, but it’s plenty uncertain.
- The first unofficial depth chart is out, and while you shouldn’t take anything on it as gospel, there’s a few intriguing moves. We’ll recap those in about an hour.
