The Falcons may be pretty settled at tackle, but guard is inarguably the weirdest position on the roster. Both of last year’s starters should return, but there no guarantees, and there’s a ton of guys competing.
Safe: Wes Schweitzer
On the bubble: Chris Chester, Andy Levitre, Mike Person, Shahbaz Ahmad, Ben Garland, Michael Huey, Collin Rahrig, Laurence Gibson
The insane thing here is that Schweitzer probably won’t even start, and he’s still the safest bet for a roster spot. Chester is recovering from an injury, Person has been running with the starters off and on but endured an up-and-down 2015, and Levitre is expensive and was only moderately effective last year. Everyone else is either an undrafted free agent, journeyman, or undrafted free agent journeyman, and it’s tough to figure out who is going to make it. My money, as you know, is on Chester, Levitre, Person and Schweitzer, but I’m legitimately unsure.
How about you?
