Falcons training camp tracker, 8/7 edition

Atlanta’s back to practicing today, and we have a list of things to monitor.

The Falcons took a day off from training camp practices Saturday after their Friday Night Lights scrimmage, but we’re back in the swing of things today.

After the rookies impressed (especially on offense) Friday night, here’s a list of things to watch out for today at training camp:

  • Desmond Trufant’s return. He was dealing with a minor hip injury, but Dan Quinn seemed pretty confident he’d return to action today.
  • De’Vondre Campbell’s continued push to start. The Falcons trotted out Campbell, Deion Jones and Vic Beasley as their starting linebackers at Friday Night Lights, and while growing pains would be inevitable, I would love to see that.
  • Dwight Freeney and Lance Moore. The team’s two newest signings should be joining Atlanta for practice today, so we’ll get a chance to see how the Falcons plan to use both, and whether Moore has enough left in the tank to overtake someone else for a roster spot.
