Breathe a sigh of relief, Falcons fans. You likely heard that Desmond Trufant wasn’t practicing Friday night, but it turns out it’s a relatively minor issue.
Dan Quinn said Desmond Trufant (hip injury) probably will be back Sunday

Trufant, of course, is the team’s best cornerbacks and one of the best young corners in the NFL, so his imminent return (even if it’s just to practice) is worth celebrating. In his absence, the Falcons trotted out converted wide receiver C.J. Goodwin as a starter, and Goodwin picked Matt Schaub off and is enjoying himself this summer, so that’s something.
The competition promises to be interested behind Trufant and fellow starter Robert Alford, but the Falcons are thankfully all set at their top two spots, if nothing else.
