What we reported on yesterday became official today: Rookie WR/KR Devin Fuller is heading to Injured Reserve for the 2016 season.
Falcons Place Devin Fuller on IR and Sign Will Ratelle https://t.co/eKfEC4mRmf

It was clear the Falcons were hoping that Fuller would be a potential replacement for Devin Hester this year, but injuries slowed Fuller down early in camp. The emergence of J.D. McKissic also put more pressure on Fuller. Sadly, Fuller was beginning to show some decent receiving skills as well.
The fact that the Falcons are placing him on IR is a sign that they want to see what he can do next year. The team clearly hasn’t given up on him yet.
The team used the open roster spot to re-sign FB Will Ratelle, who was the only other FB on the roster other than starter Patrick DiMarco. While it was unlikely that Ratelle was going to challenge for the spot, the Falcons do need an option for Thursday’s final preseason game against the Jaguars.
As always, we wish Devin Fuller a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him compete again in 2017.
