The Falcons are heading into the "dress rehearsal" of the preseason, and for the most part, all of their presumed starters will be able to play on Thursday. Given that this is the game that is the most similar to a regular season game - complete with actual film work and preparation for the opponent - it's good to have guys healthy enough to go. However, the team does not have a completely clean bill of health going into the game.
Who is in?
Vic Beasley, who missed last week's game with a shoulder strain, is expected to play on Thursday. It will be the first preseason game where both Beasley and recently signed Dwight Freeney will be on the field together.
Gritty punter Matt Bosher will also be back, after taking a vicious hit last Thursday. Bosher was able to get over the injury by simply yelling at it and scaring it away. Expect the punter to destroy someone's soul on Thursday in retribution for the hit he took.
Who is out?
Unfortunately, veteran kicker Matt Bryant is still out of action with Shayne Graham taking his place on the field for now. Backup strong safety and veritable ball-hawk Kemal Ishmael will also miss action. This will likely give rookie Keanu Neal more time on the field, which is important for the young starter, since he missed the first preseason game a couple of weeks ago. Additionally, running back Terron Ward is out, which will make it very difficult for him to convince the coaching staff that he should retain that RB3 position on the roster. Look for Brandon Wilds to take those precious snaps.
