With two preseason games in the books and a handful of fringe players starting to distinguish themselves, it’s worth wondering when the Falcons will have to start making roster cuts and edging closer to the final 53 man roster we discussed this morning.
With that in mind, I thought it would be helpful to remind you of when those roster cutdowns are coming. The first comes a few days after the Falcons play their third preseason game against the Dolphins, while the last one comes just two days after their fourth preseason games. It gets hectic in a hurry.
Tuesday, August 30
All NFL teams must cut their rosters down to 75 players by 4 p.m. EST
Saturday, September 3
All NFL teams must cut their rosters down to 53 players by 4 p.m. EST
Sunday, September 4
Beginning at 1 p.m. EST, NFL teams may establish a 10 player practice squad
We’re getting awfully close to the season, everyone. Just a little longer.
