Falcons Vic Beasley out against Browns and other updates

Last minute scratches and cuts because ... football.

NFL: Preseason-Washington Redskins at Atlanta Falcons Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Falcons entered the week knowing a few players wouldn’t play against the Browns, but it looks like that list is expanded now. Vic Beasley was ruled out for the game with a shoulder strain. He’s expected to be back next week. He joins Matt Bryant (K), C.J. Goodwin (CB), Terron Ward (RB) and Kemal Ishmael (S) on the bench tonight.

Coaches are notoriously cautious when it comes to preseason games, so we’ll try not to overreact to holding Beasley out at this point. Hopefully, he’ll be fully ready to go for the third preseason game, which is really the dress rehearsal for the regular season.

Additionally, the Falcons announced that they reached an injury settlement with Center Jake Reed.
