The Falcons have been tinkering with their roster throughout training camp, and now they’ve made a change at guard, one of the most unsettled positions on the roster.
Falcons claimed guard Jordan Walsh off waivers from the Saints after waiving guard Shahbaz Ahmed. https://t.co/I3mwz11eR0

Walsh, as our friends at Black Heart Gold Pants note, is actually a pretty intriguing guard. He’s a little short at 6’2”, but he’s a reasonably athletic run blocker with a little upside, and he’s quite young. The Falcons clearly liked him enough to get rid of Ahmed, an undrafted free agent player I personally liked, and add him to a crowded mix at guard.
Walsh isn’t likely to be anything more than a reserve, and potentially a deep reserve, but the team is looking for young developmental players at the position with veterans Chris Chester and Andy Levitre as the likely starters, and we’ll hope Walsh can win a spot and impress.
