The Falcons have five quarterbacks on the roster, currently, but they may not be totally satisfied with their options.

Lobato, 25, is a 6’6”, 223 pound former Northern Colorado quarterback who has bounced around wth the Dolphins, Buccaneers, and Colts during his brief career. He’s never gotten into a regular season game, but has a solid arm and could be an option for the rest of training camp and preseason.
This isn’t necessarily an indicator of anything more than the Falcons updating their emergency list, but given that the team has Matt Ryan, Matt Schaub, Sean Renfree, Matt Simms, and Alex Ross currently on the roster, it may indicate that Simms and Ross, at the very least, could be on their way out sooner rather than later. Schaub and Renfree appear to be competing for the backup gig.
