Falcons training camp: Recapping the Dan Quinn and Thomas Dimitroff press conference

What did the duo have to say about camp and the Falcons?

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Today brought news of Devin Hester's release and a press conference for the Falcons' brass, one we were awaiting for the possibility of some quality nuggets of information. As always, Thomas Dimitroff and Dan Quinn delivered, albeit only a few scant morsels.

Let's break down some of the highlights of today's presser, shall we?

With three open roster spots, it's both natural and encouraging that these players are still on the table. Schofield was a fiery team leader who was solid for these Falcons in 2015, while Freeney remains a gifted pass rusher even as Father Time wrestles with him. I'd support Atlanta signing both, quite frankly, even if both defensive end and linebacker seem a bit crowded at the moment.

Unsurprising news. Chester is the favorite to start, while Schweitzer has looked impressive early and Compton should hang around as a reserve, at the very least.

This is a pretty good mix of guys. Coleman's electric speed makes him an intriguing option for kick returner, but I'd probably put these battles between the steady Eric Weems and rookie Devin Fuller, who was very obviously drafted to be in the mix here.

Quinn and Dimitroff also touched on the defense potentially playing more man-to-man coverage, Tevin Coleman splitting carries with Devonta Freeman more evenly, and whether they would consider bringing Ray Rice into camp (the answer was basically "lol no," as it should be).

We'll have more thoughts on the Freeney/Schofield news a little later, but for now, what stood out to you from this press conference?
