The Bucs are back in Week 9 to torment the Falcons once more, but this time Atlanta goes on the road. Fun!
We already previewed this team once with the help of Bucs Nation, so for the second matchup, I’m going to take a different angle in. I’m going to take a look back at the series history and see, based on how these matchups have gone over time and in recent years, what we might expect.
First off: The Falcons are currently exactly one game behind in the all-time series, improbably, with a 22-23 record against the Buccaneers. That’s after they lost to the Buccaneers twice a year ago, and since 2013, they’re an even 3-3 in their games. Predictably, the Falcons are 2-1 at home and 1-2 on the road.
The Bucs are an interesting opponent because they are, in my humble opinion, still a deeply flawed team, but one with genuine talent and a franchise quarterback. I’m hopeful the Falcons won’t repeat their lousy 2015 performances against Tampa Bay this year.
Discuss this game. I think this is the less winnable game because it’s on the road, obviously, but I’d like to be pleasantly surprised.
