Reality TV star Kroy Biermann to visit with the Detroit Lions

The long-time Falcon may be moving onto another team.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Star of the critically acclaimed reality television show Don't Be Tardy to the Party Kroy Biermann may be receiving a paycheck from someone other than Bravo. After finishing out his one-year deal in Atlanta, he has had a quiet offseason. There have been no reports of interested teams for nearly four months, until today.

The former Falcon will reportedly get a cup of coffee with the Detroit Lions. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport has the news on Kroy's future.

Atlanta's 5th round pick in 2008, Kroy has spent his entire career with the Falcons. He finished out a three-year, $9.15 million dollar contract in 2014 before getting a one-year deal in 2015 for $1.925 million. He played best when limited to a rotational role, but was frequently forced into playing out of position for a crazy number of snaps.

Playing deep safety? Covering Greg Jennings? Playing an absurd 80% of snaps? These are all bad ideas.

Kroy should be able to offer some veteran experience for the Lions, rotating between linebacker at defensive end for a few hundred snaps. At this point in free agency, he is one of the more accomplished players available. He would be a nice addition for the Lions assuming they can find him the right defensive role.
